So I was sitting, staring at my computer screen, wondering what in the world I was doing wrong with setting preferences for ColourMod. I looked and looked and looked, but couldn’t see anything wrong with my syntax.

I checked to see if I was passing bad variables or nothing at all, but everything looked fine. I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. A quick Google search revealed my answer.

Dashboard was breaking in a completely different spot than the one I was working on. This was extremely surprising because the spot that was breaking was another spot where I was setting variables. Although, this time I was doing something wrong.

The reason why this was surprising is that one would expect that instead of keeping all the preferences from working, the preferences that had the right syntax should have worked regardless. At least I think is should.

What I found out though is that you can find out if the Dashboard Widget is breaking somewhere by opening up the console.log. This will give a list of errors, if any. A very hand tool when you have exhausted all other possibilities.
